I've just brought Zigby home from MPGS this week, and already he's
settled into retirement! He loves his goose and is starting to learn some
voice commands.
Cheers!

Prowler was adopted from MGPS in September. He quickly adjusted to his
new family and is very happy, especially with the king size bed. His new
sister is Abbey.

My favorite thing to do - snuggle in a blanket. A BIG ONE!

My 2nd favorite thing to do - sun bath in the bay window in the afternoon.

I'm a princess and my name is Zoe.

Snoozing with Zac by the campfire
Just wanted you all to know that my recent adoption of Zoe is going
splendidly. She's the sweetest, most adaptable little piece of velcro I've
ever encountered and she brings me joy with every dawning day. The
socialization of Zoe is going fine, accidents are few, and she's a great
camper. Always the "show-stopper" and conversation piece, she is my constant
companion whether it's spending time sun bathing while I pick blueberries or
running errands. I've included some pictures that pretty well say how well
she's settling in - enjoy! |

Zeusa and Zoey relax a great deal of the time. Such great kids - when
they do get up from napping and play, it sounds lie a small herd of
elephants in the living room!

Greetings. Here are Peach, on the left, and Tilly, adopted by Mike and
Tuesdi Woodworth on Jan. 1st, 2005. Tilly was adopted at least once
previously but unfortunately she passed away on April 24th of this year. If
any of her previous owners ever happen to check out your site we want them
to know that she had a happy and safe final stage of her life with us here
in Bar Harbor. She was an awesome dog. |

This is my new little girl, Garnet. She will be 4 March 9th, 2006 -
although most of the time you would think she was still a puppy! Garnet is
extremely bright and potentially a little too curious for her own good. In
addition, throughout any given day she is prone to frequent, albeit short
lived, spurts of bouncing. A true “tigger”! -Whether it is her goofiness or
her absolutely beautiful face, she constantly has me smiling. |

Bunny & NoonoAm I the only MGPS greyhound moved to Beijing, China?
I am Bunny ( former racing name Gotty, adopted in July 2002), 6 years old
now. I have a playful little brother Noono, sometimes he gets a bit
annoying. I do enjoy his accompany.

TruckerI just adopted Trucker last weekend and
couldn’t be happier! As you can see from the attached, he’s quickly become
king of the household. Thank you so much for introducing me to the new
member of my family. I am completely in love already! Though, I think he
misses Louise and the other dogs.
I loved your open house last weekend, and can’t wait to go to the next
one………

Walt Walt and Friends Walter has not only adapted to our home well, he also has a
new job. Every day he comes with me to work at Camp Kieve. Walter is an
exceptionally valuable member of our staff. He provides therapy for homesick
campers. He’s always ready to be hugged and petted, and has the amazing
ability to find the person who needs a little extra TLC and lean on them
like only greyhounds can lean. Walter attends all our staff meetings and in
between visits with campers can be found sleeping next to my desk. His days
are big and so is his heart.
Thanks for doing what you all do.

GracieHi MGPS!
Here are some photos of our beautiful girl, Gracie. We adopted Gracie about
14 months ago, and she has been nothing but an absolute joy! During our
recent move to Texas, Gracie rode in the back of the car for 30 hours and
didn't make a peep the entire time! She's enjoying her new life in Dallas.
She especially enjoys the dog park, where she can run and run, and usually
meets a new greyhound every time she goes. As much as she loves the dog
park, we can't wait to get back to Maine and adopt another hound!
Thank for all of your hard work!

We adopted Mombo (black) about a year ago from you as a
companion for Nora (blue brindle). As you can see by the photo- they are the
best of friends. You all provide such a wonderful service- keep up the great
work.

After 4 short years with Brie, we lost her to cancer in June. (She is the
beautiful fawn). We hadn't fully realized what an important component of our
family she had become until we felt the emptiness her passing brought. We
are happy to report however, that while we will always keep her near in our
hearts, we have been adopted by two new greys from the Bridgton adoption
center: Uncle Buck (white with red patches) and Emily (blue with white
markings). They are settling in well and we are delighted to have the pitter
patter of greyhound feet around us once again as we go through all our daily
routines around the house. Mary (Towle) was so wise and sensitive as we
faced that horrible decision (that no pet owner ever wants to make) and
helped us get through that time. Scott was sympathetic about our loss and
without pushing, let us know that when we were ready to look again, he would
be happy to meet with us. All who have met him know that Scott really knows
and loves all the dogs, so he was extremely careful to listen as we talked
about our lifestyle, hopes and needs. Then his genius went to work to make
just the right match! Buck and Emily are wonderful and we are so thankful
for the Maine Greyhound Placement Service!
Warmly, Deb and Greg Yates, Brunswick Maine |
My name is Jean, and I'm sending you a photo of my two beautiful girls,
Jane is the brindle she is 11years, Cher is my blonde girl she is
6 years old, we all come from Townsville, Queensland, Australia, Jane and
Cher both raced, between them they won 25 races (13) (12) |

This is Katie. She is 4 years-old, and we adopted her from the Maine
Greyhound Placement Service in May of this year. Katie is very intelligent,
calm, and gentle. She loves stuffed toys which she carries around like
babies. Katie also gets along very well with our other animals, a dog and
cat. We couldn't be happier with her! She is a wonderful addition to our
family and we thank all those at the placement service for all their efforts
to save these wonderful dogs. |

I just wanted to let you know that Reese (f/k/a Dottie) is doing
great and adjusting well to her new home in Portland. I'm sure she misses
all the great folks who took such wonderful care of her in Bridgton, but
rest assured that she is getting plenty of love from her new owners. Thank
you.
Regards,
Ben |

We have had Ootie in our family for over eight years
now and one of the things that most impresses us is that he is very willing
to accept additions. We have been fostering orphaned/abandoned kittens for
the Animal Refuge League in Westbrook for the last three years. We raise
them until they are old enough to adopt and then we start all over with a
new litter. Every time we get a new litter Ootie lets them crawl over him,
play on him and sleep with him. I thought I'd send you a few photos of the
kittens and Ootie. Ootie is getting up in age, almost 11 and is turning
grayer every day it seems but he is still going strong and is happy to get
outside and run. We are very glad to have him around.

Kofi (f/k/a Noah) enjoying some of his toys. I thought you might like
to see a picture of Kofi with some of his toys. He is settling in fine, and
seems to have the housebreaking thing all figured out. The only thing is,
he's the only dog I've ever known who doesn't like to go outside -- he will
only go when he really needs to. He just gets more delightful the more time
I spend with him. |

This is Sam. MGPS told us that Sam had been at the adoption kennel
longer than any of the other dogs. I can't imagine why no one adopted this
wonderful, sweet, loving and gentle dog. I can only believe that he was
waiting for us to find him. We found him and as you can see, he is quite
comfortable in his new home.

I would like to share tow of her recent snap shots. I truly believe she is
the prettiest girl in the world. |

We adopted a greyhound from Maine Greyhound Placement Services last November
and it was the best thing we ever did. I wanted to submit a couple of
pictures of Tula (was "Ebony") that accurately depicted her new station in
life as HOUSE DOG. |

This is Tula modeling her swanky new boots too! |

We adopted our greyhound, Cady, from you last April. Her kennel name was
Tiny, but we renamed her Acadia (Cady for short). We can't imagine what we
ever did without her! You'll see she is modeling her autumn coat -- we've
been bundling her up so much in the snow that it's hard to see her these
days. She is a very special pup, and we are so grateful to have her! Emily &
Pete Levine and Cady (I get to sleep on the couch and everything!) |
